Job Description: The Event Manager and Race Director is a vital position within John’s Run/Walk Shop, as this individual will regularly act as the face of John’s at group runs, events, and all of the John's Bluegrass Racing events. They have direct oversight of all of our races, organizing event details and promotion of races, as well as financial analysis of events, and coordinating with our charitable partners.
Job Duties:
Hosting all group runs: (Tuesdays and Thursdays 6:00-7:00 pm, Saturdays 7:00-9:00 am.Fourth Sunday of each month, March-October, 7:00-10:00 am)
Hosting and executing monthly events
Reporting on effectiveness of events
Select aspects of monthly staff meetings
Maintaining communication with the Marketing and Events Director to execute and improve events
Directing all John’s Bluegrass Racing Company races (This currently includes 12 races throughout the year)
Management of our run club via RunSignup
Sales floor hours acting as a Fit Expert
Hours scheduled on the sales floor are decreased as necessary for hours needed to race direct.
Hours are also flexible for event schedules.
Ongoing Responsibilities:
Coordinating with the Marketing and Events Director to:
Oversee events
Promote events to our runners
Promote races via our customer outreach channels
Flexible work hours for planning and execution of events
Attending senior staff meetings
Attending staff meetings will all staff members
Attending on-going training with vendors
Successful candidates will have:
An interest in running or walking, as well as running, walking, and lifestyle shoes
Experience speaking in front of crowds
A skill for building enthusiasm within a group
Strong judgment and decision-making skills
A valid driver’s license
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Customer service experience
A team mindset and excellent interpersonal skills

John’s Run/Walk Shop is seeking a Receiving Associate in the Inventory and Receiving Department to help inspect inbound goods, ensure accuracy and quality control, and work with all other internal departments to meet customer needs. A successful candidate for this position will be able to make valuable contributions through:
Receiving and stocking of material.
Quickly and accurately inspecting inbound material.
Maintaining accurate inventory counts.
Working with customers on the Sales Floor
Proper organization of shelf & bin locations.
Assisting with all activities involving Material/Inventory Control.
Specific duties include:
Labeling products accurately.
Stocking products and materials.
Space utilization through organizing stocked inventory and any overflow.
Maintaining accurate inventory and cycle count records.
Performing other duties as assigned.
Skills and Requirements:
Communicating with employees, vendors, and customers
Effectively and efficiently organizing and executing responsibilities
Working effectively on computers with both internal and external software and systems
Working at a fast pace while also accurately paying attention to detail
Familiarity with running, walking, and lifestyle shoe products and terminology
Physical Requirements Include:
Ability to lift between 50 lbs - 75 lbs consistently.
Ability to work in a stationary position in increments throughout the day as needed.

Job Description: We’re looking for mature staff to join our team! A John’s Run/Walk Shop Fit Expert works with customers from the moment they come through the door, to the moment they leave to make sure they have a great experience while visiting our stores, and to ensure that they leave with the best pair of shoes for their feet.
A great Fit Expert will also be well versed in other running and footwear related products so that we can take a holistic approach to meeting the day-to-day footwear needs of our customers.
Our best Fit Experts are outgoing, energetic, and enjoy working one-on-one with customers!
Day-to-Day responsibilities:
1.) Greet customers and assist them in finding the best products for their footwear and running needs. Extensive paid training with senior staff members is required before being allowed to work with customers one-on-one.
2.) Opening/closing
3.) Taking direction from the Floor Manager to help with things like restocking, redesigning the sales floor to merchandise new products, and packet pick-ups
4.) Ensuring that the stores are tidy and clean.
Monthly responsibilities:
1.) Attending monthly staff meeting where we go over goals, and have ongoing training
Optional work opportunities:
1.) Attending John’s Striders group runs
2.) Working as part of our race team to help bring awesome local races to the Central Kentucky area
3.) Attending health fairs as a representative of John’s Run/Walk Shop to engage attendees and explain what we can help with them in regards to their fitness and health goals.
